Riding the tail of NYC’s heightened bedbug infestation, Governor Patterson just signed into law an amendment that requires landlords to disclose the one year bedbug history of the building and unit being rented or purchased.
This move is both another law protecting (future) tenants, but the transparency will hopefully force landlords to keep up to date on exterminations and take swift action when a problem arises.
