We’ve all see the wooden pallets lining the street outside of stores, waiting to be picked up by someone, ANYONE really. The other day, I almost grabbed one to use in my backyard as a trellis, but my girlfriend slapped my hand away as we had a trip coming up to the garden center and I just had to be patient (waiting for the final frost has been like waiting for Christmas…). We did find other trellises that work, but I still wish I could have used something free and that was likely headed for a landfill.
Lo and behold, this comes through – a post from Life on the Balcony about using pallets as a small vertical planter! Life on the Balcony is a blog about container gardening generally for urbanites, and for those of you in the Big Apple with a green thumb or thoughts of getting hands deep in potting soil, this may well be helpful.
Here is what the beautiful final product looks like, but click on it for the full article!
